Game Story

In the ancient orient, there is a peaceful and serene continent. The people there live and work in peace and contentment. Their families are kept there generation by generation. However, an evil power is preparing to come out behind the peaceful surface. After collecting energy for the past thousand years, the evil power finally became a huge monster that is called Master Blood on Blood Palace. Master Blood began to slaughter human beings and other living things in order to strengthen his power. He enhanced himself by absorbing their souls. At that time, the whole world was full of blood and fear. People became destitute and homeless. The beautiful and peaceful continent became a hell which was full of corpses.

However, the justice must exist where there is depravity. The great rabbi Master Tian Meng, who came from the north, contacted with all the righteous forces to suppress Master Blood and his evil minions who were increasing day by day. This battle had lasted about one hundred days, and the two sides were hurt badly. At last, Master Tian Meng and his four accomplices fought with Master Blood on Blood Mountain. The decisive battle lasted for five days, and Master blood was defeated by Master Tian Meng’s witchcraft called Heaven Ice, and was sealed in a block of one-thousand year ice cube. This ice cube was suppressed at the bottom of the deep pool in Green Scarp.

After Master Blood was sealed, people began to rebuild their homestead. And the whole continent gradually returned to peace and harmony. Due to the experience of this battle with evil, Master Tian Meng and his accompanies in this battle decided to created their own juntas and accepted lots of apprentices in order to increase the force of justice. Thus, Monk, Wizard, Fairy, Tamer and Assassin, those five juntas were created one by one. The force of justice became stronger and stronger.

Nevertheless, after five hundred years, the ice cube which was at the bottom of the deep pool in Green Scarp disappeared suddenly. And then, different kinds of evil ghosts and monsters continually appeared. The evil breath gradually suffused gradually. What had happened? Did Master Blood resurge, or was a new monster born? The five righteous juntas made the appointment to act together to find out the truth.

Classes

There are five classes in total in Talisman Online. They are: Wizard, Monk, Assassin, Fairy and Tamer.

Wizard’s founder Master Long-eyebrow , who has been enlightened at the beginning of Song Dynasty, is the ringleader of every low-level immortals both in just and evil juntas. The leader Qi Shuming, who is taught by Master Long-eyebrow, has too strong power to identify. Wizard is the head of righteous juntas. Its prentices are all justicial persons.

The leader of Monk is Master with White Eyebrow, who only wants male prentices. All the prentices have to do a tonsure before they start to cultivate themselves. There is another monk called Buddhist Monk Tian Meng, whose position is even higher than Master with White Eyebrow. But his trace has been lost for a long time.

Assassin was created by the Heaven Child, Li Jing Xu, who is also called Master Jing Xu. He used to fight against the evils with Master Long-eyebrow and is half an immortal. The business is in the charge of Officer Tian Du and Ming He, because Master Jing Xu is wandering outside nearly all the year. Assassin’s attack skill is famous for being fierce and tough.

Class of Fairy was created by immortal nun, You Tan, who only wants female prentices. Although most of the officers are nun prentices, they don’t insist that all the prentices should do a tonsure. New prentices can cultivate themselves with hair.

Tamer Gong Ye Huang is good at animals’ language, and can talk with every kinds of animals. He overheard the sound from the white parrot and get a Tao book. He was enlightened and created Tamer after many years’ enhancement. Tamer increase their own ability by domesticate different kinds of wild animals.

Equipment

The equipment system is pretty interesting in Talisman Online. The following is a breif introduction of attributes of Talisman Online. You can grow up your character as well as your equipment. Yes! It has the same equipment growth system embeded in the game. As you can see from the picture:

1: Talisman’s current level and Plus Rank (If it has this rank).
2: Talisman’s type (weapon or assistant) and user’s profession.
3: In current level, how many Energy had filled into Talisman and how many Energy totally need to level up.
4: The highest level the Talisman could reach.
5: The effect attribute of the Talisman
6: Player’s level required to use the Talisman.
7: Next level’s information.

Scenarios

What’s this? Scenaros? Lol, it’s well-known Instance System. The scenario is an area which is especially for you and your teammates. The place is hard and dangerous, so you and your teammates need to fight and explore together. The monsters in the scenario are usually very strong, so you must find some team members who are in the same camp with you. Of course, the bigger the danger is, the bigger your reward will be.

Blood Palace War

The war is between deferent guilds and persons. The guild which wins the war will be the Master Guild and gain the control right of Stone City and Blood Mountain. The guild will earn the tax income from the NPC sellings in Stone City and around. And the guild members can enter a special scene, which is called Blood Hunting Ground, for hunting special monsters. Since we haven’t touched the war system, so we won’t judge much on this.

In short, to use a player’s word to describe this game: Talisman Online is a WOW for those non-paypalers. Miracle Castle brings fun and happiness to the gamers.

The open beta client of Martial Heroes Europe has been successfully launched. It is a totally improved new client for a world which is exclusively available for European gamers. Game Entertainment Europe already welcomed 130.000 new registrees’. The new world is called “Pandora”. Hello guys, you haven’t seen me for quite a long time right? Haha, sorry to keep you waiting for the latest article. Recently I am busy with setting up a game company. Yes, I quitted tqdigital already.

Today I will bring you a brief introduction of TianXiaII, which was made by Netease, the largest internet portal and leading site in China, it also can be found in NASDAQ.

Tian Xia II is a 3D game, which is basically copied from World of Warcraft. But it’s definitely a Chinese version. You can not name your character in English and numbers, which means you can only make a Chinese character name for it. Commonlly in battle, when you lose HP, numbers will come out over your head, but here, not numbers, it’s Chinese “One, two, three..”. You can also find a very Chinese NPC: Earth Grandpa in game, you can ask him for directions. You can also set up booth there by a very cute ghost named “Lian Cai Ghost”.

I did not want to get into the details since I only played that game for a little time. But the graphics are pretty good here. Here are some screenshots:

How many of you used to play MU Online? If you’ve played that MMORPG, you will be attracted by its graphics and equipment. That game is old, but people still remember that and many private servers are held open for MU. Today I will give a little report on FengYun, a game made by a Chinese company called Aurora Technology which is located in ChengDu city. It’s really like MU.

The basic impression of this game for me is that, it’s a game designed based on three games: World of Warcraft, On the journey, MU.

Graphics:

This games looks like 3D, but actually it’s 2.5D. You can not adjust camera but it’s not a problem. The only problem that I encountered in playing was that you can not see your character when he/she moves in the shadow of the trees. It’s very neat and you can also find your footsteps fading while running. Effects of equipment are really nice, shining all the time. When you are under the water, you can swim.

Classes:

It is like MU, there are totally 3 classes: Warrior, Taoist(Mage) and Archer. And you can be a Sword Warrior or Spear warrior; Fire Taoist or Water Taoist; Arrow Archer, Crossbow Archer or Nurse Archer. Currently the classes are balanced though some Taoist in forum claimes that the new updates weakened Taoist, but all we know is that Taoist are too strong at the beginning. BTW, only Archer is the girl looking character. It’s interesting that you need to be verified through webcam of the GMs to make sure you are a true girl. Once your identity is confirmed, you can learn nurse skills to be a Nurse Archer and complete some certain quests.

Skills:

Since each class has two ways to train, so skills are totally different. If you want to be a Sword Warrior, then normally it’s impossbile to be an excellent Spear Warrior. In leveling up skills, all you need is Vigor, which can be obtained from killing monsters and completing quests. But you can’t gather so much Vigor as you think, so you need to make a good distribution of your Vigor and think carefully which skills are needed and which are not.

Quests:

There are loads of quests in game. You can level up by doing the quests very easily. You can touch off a quest by getting a quest item dropped by monsters; you can do the circulated quests for hunting; you can complete transportation quests by escorting goods and gain a lot EXP…. Some quests are boring, while some quests will give you some surprises.

Gameplay:

The gameplay of this game is not bad. Since I am only lvl 30, currently my feeling is that: It’s funny and sometimes you will get surprised. When you fight with monsters and all of a sudden, you will find a Boss full of precious items; You can suddenly come across a treasure box or a bag dropped from the mosnters. When you are lucky enough and find something valuable, this information will be broadcasted in all the server and make you famous.

Economy:

It’s not easy to gain a lot of in game money. And currently in game money is hard to gather and sometimes you will be worried about the in game money rather than purchased points. You can purchase some items from the company but that stuff doesn’t dominate anything. For example, if you want to upgrade your equipment in the game, you can not purcahse materials from the shop directly but to purchase from the hard working players. So some paying players complain in official forum saying they can not get what they want in the game, which is pretty fair to the non-paying players. So basically the economy in this game is good and balanced.

Equipment:

You can not upgrade the level of your equipment. You can change your equipment when you get to 10. 20. 30…etc. You can also get your equipment blessed by using stones/gems. Currently I didn’t see any socket items, and there isn’t any information on that in official website. The success rate is marked on each stone, so you will know the rate clearly. But once you fail, your item is gone.

My current conclusion:

What’s promising:

It’s a good game for killing time, beautiful design and interesting gameplay, balanced economy and good PK setting. You can play well by paying nothing.

The pratfalls:

Lag. When I see other players around me, or casting spells around me, I do feel lag. Hopefully they can solve this problem in the not-too-distant future. You can not make a female warrior, female taoist or male archer, that is no good either.  Maps are a bit crowded and monsters need to be implimented more.

Dragon Throne Online is newly produced by Object Software. Object Software is the first Chinese company that entered the English market in game industry. If you are an old fan of Object Software, you must remember a game called The world of Qin, a pc game by this company. Currently they have released last 2D MMORPG in China called Dragon Throne Online. This MMORPG is free to play and the game looks like Conquer Online which is made by TQdigital. It is said that this MMORPG has the best effects in 2D MMORPG.

This game could be translated into English version, but we are not so sure about it.

Some people regard GMs as Mysterious people. Some players never saw a GM in game. GM, game master of a certain mmorpg, his main job is to solve problems of players. But in Eudemons Online, players can fight with GMs for fun. This can be regarded a new concept: PVG, which means player VS, GMs.
