Zu Online(China) has just started its Open Beta in China. It reminded us a couple of months ago, the days we tested the game in English version of Zu Online.

Zu Online - which refers to lots of classical sutras, has its setting based on the supernature novel—The Life of Swordsman in a area called Zu.

It is an elaborately and well-designed 3D MMORPG with a rich culture of immortals and knight-errants. Its most outstanding feature is putting emphasis on the traditional orient-culture of monkery. The in-game quests will boost the development of storyline. Players will be able to taste flying by riding a sword, consubstantiating gods, forging mystic weapons, creating sects and other else amusing.

Zu Mountain, these two characters do not only represent a range of mountains and streams. By contrast, considerable ghosts, immortals, knight-errants and uncanny fairylands have been tightly fastened to them. Zu Mountain has become the pronoun of the millenarian oriental culture of immortals and monkery.

We have tested the game in the first 20 levels and if you just follow the quests, it will keep you very busy. One thing we have noticed is that, the map is very large. When you moving from one place to another, it really takes time, even in GPS system(Click the NPC and you will move toward him directly). The most difference of this game compared to the others is from its paintings and graphics. It is really unique though.If you are tired of clumsily 3D game, you can have a try on this game.

Maybe the guild leader is exaggerating the point a bit, but that does not invalidate his point. It is in fact true that only people with the unique characteristics of being steadfast and dedicated that can save all the people of the land from evil and return hope to our hearts…

The Alpha Test of Legend of Golden Plume we’ve been waited for so long will finally begin on May 30, 2008. Thanks for your passion and we would like to invite you to join us in the Alpha Test event of LGP.
Some of you have already signed up for the alpha test. While if you are new here, please reply to this post in order to get the activation code before the thread is closed since we only offer limited access to alpha test due to its goal.

We will send a PM to each of you who replied the post with an activation code. After you receive the code, please wait patiently till we release the account registration page. Armor and weapons bring their owner not only powerful attack and defense capabilities, but also reputation and honor! Every weapon or piece of forged armor records its owner’s heroic deeds. The WoKF Forging system is an excellent way for players to improve their weapons and armor.

Key Facts about the Forging System

Attributes:
Four attributes can be increased through forging: Hit Points, Magic Points, Attack and Defense. Different equipment has different forgeable attributes. For weapons, helmets, and cuffs, attack and defense attributes can be increased by forging. For chest armor, leg armor, and boots, Hit Points and Magic Points can be increased by forging.

Bonus Levels Achieved by Forging:
Armor and Weapons will increase by 1 level after each successful forging. Each time an item is forged, the forging bonus will increase one level. The forging bonus will be +2, +3, and so on up to 20.

Success and Failure:
Forging is not without risk. If the forging is successful, the armor or weapon’s attribute will be increased. Otherwise, the armor or weapon will vanish.

Shine:
Armor and weapons are likely to shine after forging.  Depending on the forging level, the color of the shine will be different.
No shine: +1 to +3
White: +4 to +6
Blue: +7 to +9
Green: +10 to +12
Orange: +13 to +15
Red: +16 to +18
Purple: +19
Black: +20

Charms:
Certain charms are available that can help ease the forging process.

The Craftsman’s Charm increases your chance of success while forging.

The Advanced Craftsman’s Charm will improve the odds of a successful forge even more than the Craftsman’s Charm.

The Forging Safety Charm will prevent an item from vanishing after an unsuccessful forging attempt.

Once upon a time, the world was dominated by a fiend, Apofis who claimed himself as the messenger of sun. Torturing people seemed nothing but fun to him. He felt satisfied by simply destroying people’s peaceful lives. One day, he used his horrendous power to make 9 giant fireballs and hung them up on the sky. All plants were burning. Lakes were drying. People were crying. Death wandered on the surface of the earth.

Finally, one day a hero arose. His name was Illios. He produced 9 arrows with the distillate of the nature. This took him 49 days , after which he started his adventure.

The fight with Apofis was something like never seen before. Illios used all his power to shoot the 9 giant fireballs from the sky. As he hit them. they turned into 9 golden plumes. As the fireballs disappeared, the world cooled down and the people could see Illios fighting against Apofis. In his hands he held the 9 golden plumes and he was flying during the battle.

The people called the plumes “suncrows” and they believed the suncrows were the source of Illiose’s bravery.

Unfortunately, the destruction of the fireballs took most of Illios’ power and he could feel himself falling to the face of the world. In a final attempt to destroy Apofis, he gathered all the strength he had left and launched his final attack. The attack killed both Apofis and Illios, freeing the world of the evil being and letting the world return from chaos.

The 9 golden plumes fell to the earth with Illios. Nobody knows where they are at this time, but everybody believes in their magic power and the bravery they can bring.

Over thousands of years, the search for the 9 suncrows never ended. Many people have tried and failed but they never gave up.

Different kinds of persons have searched for the suncrows. People like the Taoist, which is able to discern the secret of nature; the Swordman, who can wield weapons better then anyone; the Warrior, whom is believed to be Illiose’s offspring; the Priest that lives as a hermit and is good at curing people; and finally the Mage, which has unbelievable magic power.

A journey with no end has just begun. Are you ready for it? Find the suncrows, fulfill the legend, gain the true power and be a true hero.

It’s no doubt that scholars help much in the normal game play of ELF Online. It seems to me that people have been asking on a consistent basis about the proper build for a scholar. Generally speaking, it really depends on what you will be choosing as the second job for you scholar. Currently, although I only have experience in buildiing the stats for a doctor, I will try to explain a short summary of the other 2 jobs as well: Poet and Alchemist.
First off, it is very important that each of the 3 jobs has enough Staminaina to meet the requirements for wearing dream, hero and legendary armor. You can easily check by going to the NPC in Dragon City that exchanges armor for gold powder and hover over the correct respective armor which for a scholar, should be leather. After meeting the Staminaina requirements, the builds start to branch off a bit.

Doctor
Since your main job will be designated as the healer vs. an attacker, it very important to have the correct balance of mp and hp. The AOE (area of effect) heals and single heals can start to become quite pricey at higher levels and therefore, a substantial amount of mp is needed. However, your most important job is to keep yourself from dying, therefore as important as MP can be, a higher level of HP can become crutcial. I have personally pumped 2 Wisdom, 3 Stamina or 1 Wisdom, 4 Stamina into my doctor in order to ensure that by lvl 60 my HP will be over 4000.

Poet
Your main focus will be to cast party buffs and act as an emergency, not primary healer. While I believe it is important to have a secondary healer, the poet will be using most of it’s store turn points in order to cast buffs to increase party attack, etc. I would personally go back to the old school build of alternating between 2 Wisdom, 3 Stamina and 3 Wisdom, 2 Stamina in order to keep a good balance of HP and MP.

Alchemist
Now here comes the tough decision. The role of an alchemist will play as a strong attacker, yet an emergency healer. Since the alchemist will primarily be attacking, I believe it is better to follow a Magician/Shaman/Hypnotist’s build of 3 Wisdom, 2 Stamina. It is really a hard decision on whether you would like to keep your HP high, or to forgo some HP in order to have enough MP to pull off all the attacks.

Final Notes
One thing to remember is that the builds I have mentioned above neither favor a pvp build nor a training build. I have tried to piece together what I have heard and it seems the conclusion was the balance that I have mentioned above. For example. if you would like your character to favor a pvp build, certainly pump more HP than MP.

Another common question was : What exactly does luck do?
In ELF Online, Luck will decreases monster’s enmity towards the character, so it will decrese the possiblity of being attacked. It might not be a bad idea to pump in some luck towards a PURE training doctor, but certainly never towards a pvp doctor.

Your exsistence is for the team. This sentence speaks louder than any others in Elf Online. However, what is the best team? What a best some have?

As some Elf Online veterans players come to a conclusion, the best pk team includes 1 hypnotist, 2 doctors 2 hunters. And Pet choices are 1 control pets and 4 agil pets. Control pets has many manipulation skills that can help win a team duel. Mostly under then enhance branch, there are skills that decrease players attack and defense , and speed. For agil pets which has the fastest speed and highest attack, they are the main source of attack which can kill any targets in a blink. Suggested skills are multiply attack , madness and joint attack.

Some other crazy but yet effective team combos proven players include:

5 doctors which are immortal.

Or 5 assasins who enjoys crazy speed and finish enemies in 2 store points possible.

Or 5 hunters who use all team attack spells
